Sycamore PTO Updates Art To Remember![]() Art To Remember magnets and orders should be returned to school by Monday November 2. All orders will be received in time for holiday gift giving. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS AND OTIS SPUNKMEYER DOUGH SALES A SUCCESS!Sycamore earned over $8,775 through sales of Entertainment Books and Otis Spunkmeyer dough in this fall's fundraiser. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who particpated and helped with this effort.
Thanks to the success of this, Sycamore will be able to provide many teacher grants, purchase lots of classroom books and supplies, and host several fun PTO sponsored family events this year.
Again, thanks to all students and their families for the support of this fundraiser. ![]() PTO GRANT WINNERSAt the October meeting, the PTO awarded 3 teacher grants:
Mrs. Swafford will be getting 5 new portable CD players and 20 new titles of books on CD for her kindergarten classroom.
Mr. LeLoup will be ordering at least 6 new CD players for schoolwide use, one being a listening station with up to 5 headphones able to connect at the same time.
Miss Naatz will be creating a Science Discovery Center in one of the portable buildings. This will be open to all students to take field trips there with their classes for some hands on science learning. Be ready to learn more about weather when the Discovery Center opens. OCTOBER LABELS CONTEST
The October labels contest winner, earning an ice cream party after lunch Friday, November 6th is.....
the FOURTH GRADE. Thanks to some really crazy soup loving students in Mrs. Wheeler's class, 4th graders turned in 4,467 total labels. First grade came in a close second place with 4,250 labels.
With labels collected in this contest, Sycamore earned $1,500 from BoxTops and over 6,000 Campbells points - enough points to buy 2 boomboxes for listening to literature CD's in the classroom, or 24 playground balls. Thanks to all who sent in labels. Keep saving them for our next contest, coming soon. Chili Cook-Off a Success!The family fun night “Chili Cook-Off” hosted by the Sycamore PTO was a huge success!
Many thanks to all the families that entered chili, to those who came out to enjoy the night with Sycamore family and friends, and to the PTO families that helped with the set-up and cleaning after the event was completed. A special thanks to Ms. Fox who coordinated the fun fall activities in the gym (at the last minute), Ms. Thacker who helped coordinate the café and kitchen areas, the Sycamore Student Council who helped pass out glow sticks to all the students who came. There were 14 different chili-cookin’ teams that entered the contest this year! The following is a list of the team names, the person who entered the chili and the student/s they represented:
The winner by popular vote of the first ever chili cook-off was “Chili Chili Bang Bang”!! The second place winner was “Team Batman”, and third place was Szumski’s Hawaiian Chili”! It was a close race, but those 3 teams came out on top! Congratulations to the winners and to all who participated! Sycamore PTO Meeting Schedule
